Used w/ Coleman airbed - at home for guests and also camping. Purchased December 2007 - and still love this pump. Was wary when buying, yet continue to be pleased and surprised at how well it works. Keeps its charge, inflates/deflates the airmattress easily and quickly. Light-weight, durable, well made.
Seriously. Had one of these for quite a while. I've used it a dozen times, both for inflating and quick deflating, since the last charge. Can't remember the last time I charged it. Maybe it was two years ago. Too heavy to take backpacking alone, but hey.I usually don't take an air mattress to backcountry. Don't lose the tips.
I use this to inflate my 16m snowkite and it works pretty well. I still need to hook up the manual pump at the end to get the kite inflated to max pressure, but it sure beats manually pumping the whole thing up. I expected it to be a little faster, but overall I am please with the unit.
It's rechageable which means it is for convenience.Yes, it's quite convenient and works well. However, it's rechageable which means the battery won't last forever. After less than 50 times of recharging, it dies.I recommend 12V or 120v one if you can use power outlet at the site.
However if your air mattress doesn't need inflated in the middle of the night. I charged this little thing up in the hope that I would be able to keep my air mattress with a mystery (source yet to be determined) slow leak going for one last camping trip before retiring it.Much to my surprise, I did not have to hunt down a means to recharge the pump during my entire 5 day camping trip. why complain. And I had to re-inflate my queen size mattress at LEAST once every single day/evening. The deflating was nice for compact packing too.My only complaint on this pump would have to be the noise, it is quite loud. Myself, I'm replacing the mattress before I give up this pumping powerhouse. ;)
